What to Pack for Your Surf Trip with The Experience Surf Camp at Bocas del Toro, Panama

Surf Essentials:

  • Surfboard (or rent one here!)
    No need to worry if you're not traveling with a board — all surfboards are included in your Surf Camp Pack at The Experience Surf Camp.

  • Leash (plus a backup if you have one)
    A surf leash is essential for safety. But good news — your Surf Camp Pack already includes a board and leash, so you're fully covered!

  • Wax (tropical wax works best in Panama)

    We also give you some wax in case you don’t have!

  • Rash guard or surf shirt (protects from sunburn and board rash)

    We also give you a rash guard in case you don’t have your own!

  • Reef-safe sunscreen (strong sun and coral-friendly products are a must)

  • Boardshorts or surf leggings

  • Surf hat or cap (optional but helpful for sun protection)

Clothing:

  • Lightweight, breathable shirts and tank tops

  • Shorts and swimsuits

  • Flip-flops or sandals

  • A light rain jacket (it can rain unexpectedly in the tropics)

  • Something a bit dressier for island nightlife or dinner in town

Health & Hygiene:

  • Mosquito repellent (especially important in the evenings)

  • Aloe vera or after-sun gel

  • Personal toiletries

  • Any prescription medications

  • Small first-aid kit (band-aids, antiseptic, etc.)

Extras:

  • Dry bag or waterproof backpack

  • Reusable water bottle (stay hydrated!)

  • Travel towel or microfiber towel

  • Sunglasses with UV protection

  • Phone charger and waterproof case

Travel Documents:

  • Passport (with at least 6 months validity)

  • Travel insurance info

  • Credit/debit card and some cash in USD
